The Garden City Trojans field hockey team played host to East Meadow's Clarke High School on Wednesday afternoon, November 2nd for a Nassau Class B semifinal game. The teams had met earlier in the season with the Trojans winning the match 2-1. Clarke was the No. 4 seed going into the playoffs but the Trojans, who were last year's Nassau County champions, were No. 1, with their undefeated season. Neither team was able to score in the first half of the game, but with 20:55 left in the second half, Garden City's Alexandra Bruno scored off of a feed from teammate Victoria Piscopo to give the Garden City a 1-0 lead. Tara Mahon added a second score later in the half to provide the final margin for the Trojans, and the 2-0 victory. Garden City advances to the Nassau Class B championship game against the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks on Sunday, November 6 at 2 p.m. at Adelphi. Clarke finishes it's season with an overall record of 10-4-3.
